Experience

Achyut Kantawala has over 22 years of architectural experience. His work encompasses a wide range of building types, including residential, office, retail, hospitality, infrastructure and institutional.

Mr. Kantawala with KPF is currently involved in projects in Mumbai, Shanghai, London and Vienna. His major endevours include a landmark two tower residential complex serving as a gateway to the new district of Nine Elms, London;Three Sixty West, a 360,000-square-meter mixed-use development in Mumbai that includes a 385-meter residential tower and a 250-meter Ritz Carlton residential/hotel tower; and First International Financial Center (FIFC)/Citibank in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, a 14 story LEED Gold rated office building providing office spaces exceeding the highest international standards. 

In Pune, he has worked on a restaurant cluster, and two private houses.

Before establishing AKA, Mr. Kantawala was at Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, New York where he was involved in the planning and design of large-scale projects in Chongqing, Suzhou, Singapore and Sydney. The Chongqing ITCC project is the centerpiece of the Tian Di Master Plan in Chongqing, one of China’s largest cities. In Singapore, the award winning Marina Bay Financial Centre, a four tower mixed use complex in Singapore measures over 2,540,000 square feet, and is designed to meet Green Mark Gold standards.

­Prior to his experience at KPF, Mr. Kantawala was a project architect at Cambridge Seven Associates, Cambridge MA (c7a.com), where his work included transit stations, hotels, aquariums, and colleges. He was also Principal Co-Designer at SEED International, where he designed and produced award winning tool-less furniture systems (retailed at Design Within Reach dwr.com).

Mr. Kantawala’s design work has won a number of awards, including two ADEX Awards for Design Excellence (2005 and 2006), and he has been awarded 11 US Patents for furniture designs. His work has been exhibited at various venues including the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Milan, The Children’s Museum, Boston; and published in several books, including UltraMaterial (Book by George M. Beylerian, Michele Caniato, Andrew Dent, and Bradley Quinn), and Plastics (Book by Cristian Campos), and also in numerous print and web publications, including Surface, Wallpaper*, Harvard Design Magazine, Metropolis and I.D. (magazine, USA).

Experience

Anant Bhangre brings over 10 years of architectural expertise to AKA. During this period he has worked on a range of projects including residential, commercial, interiors, hospitality, transportation, aviation, and master planning.

Before joining AKA, he worked at Kennedy Design in Sheffield, UK for 3 years and then with Access Architects Mumbai for 2 years. He has been with AKA for 6 years.

Experience

Sayali joined the AKA team in August 2015.

She strongly believes in sustainable architecture. She has a keen interest in making a building rely on its own resources. She believes a mixture of climate and context responsive architecture with water harvesting, zero energy and zero waste can achieve the desired goal.

Other than that she is a doodle artist and always up to creating something best out of the waste available in office.

Apeksha joined the AKA team in February 2018.

Apeksha has about 4 years experience. Before joining AKA she worked at PG Patki, Mumbai and KMA, Bangalore. Her experience includes private houses, retail buildings and residential towers.

She likes traveling, sketching & observing the built form. Sketch is from a recent visit to Banaras.

Experience

Ankita joined the AKA team in August 2018.

Ankita has experience of about 4 years in residential and mixed-use projects. Before joining AKA she was working with SSA Architects in Mumbai where she worked on high rise towers of premium Mumbai developers.
