Our entry was a semi-finalist amongst 1100 entries submitted for the first phase of a two stage competition organized by the US Army Corps of Engineers to identify a concept for a memorial to those who died as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon. As one of the semi-finalists our entry was exhibited at the National Building Museum in Washington DC. The concept uses lenticular glass, fiber-optic cables, water, grass and a gentle slope in section to evoke loss, sacrifice and finally hope as one walks through the memorial.
